Am Fasgadh

Am Fasgadh is our main drop-in centre.  Here we aim to provide a home from home with a family atmosphere.  The most important part of Am Fasgadh is the socialising.  We have a rule of confidentiality "what you see and what you hear, when you leave please leave it here".  This rule is ensure that members feel able to talk freely about their feelings and problems.  We have plenty of private space available for those who wish to talk on a one to one basis.  The best way to find out about it is to drop-in for a coffee and see for yourself.

When are we open?

Am Fasgadh
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
Saturday and Sunday 9am - 3pm

What we offer

We offer a range of opportunities and services including a main meal every day (plus dinner when open late), support and guidance from staff, group activities and games like cards, painting, walks, music, snooker, backgammon, computers with free internet access, free access to the local gym and lots more in a safe and friendly environment.

What our members say about us

Many people would not have taken bets on me being here this year. I have had alcohol problems off and on for some time. Last year was bad-things had got worse for me  after my wife died.

AA is not my scene-the meetings depressed me. I’ll admit that at first, attending Am Fasgadh did not appeal to me but I now find the support a big help. I enjoy mixing with staff and clients. It gives me somewhere to go, at a time that suits me, and I can leave at a time that suits me.

We have a laugh but I am also aware that counseling, advice and help without judgment, is available to me. I don't make any promises and none are asked of me. I am accepted for who i am. I am grateful to staff and friends.

We would welcome new members of the public to come for a chat and a cup of tea and to see the benefits we get from the centre. It is not perfect-staff often work under difficult circumstances but I appreciate what they do. They look out for me, take note of when I’m not there. Its good to be part of a team.
